We’ve all heard the saying, “There’s an app for that!” From apps that provide weather forecasts to apps that help come up with excuses for ending an unwanted phone conversation, mobile applications have woven their way into nearly every nook and cranny of our lives. But we all have those favorite, can’t-make-it-through-life-without-it apps that we continue to tap, day after day. Here are a few of the apps* we just can’t live without:
Need we say more? This app probably gets the most air time on our phones, giving us constant access to our all-important social network.
Cozi helps to keep your family organized and your household running like a well-oiled machine. One of Cozi’s best features is the family calendar, which lets you add appointments that are accessible by the whole family. To-do lists and grocery lists also help remind you, on the go, of the tasks you need to complete and what you need to pick up at the market. Cozi’s cutest feature is a family journal where you can jot down memories and add photos to keep those precious family moments in your pocket.
The Houzz app connects you to a mammoth photo database for interior design, decorating, and landscaping ideas. The database can be searched by keywords as general as “kitchens” or as specific as “lemon-yellow paisley throw pillows,” and allows you to save your favorite home ideas for easy access in a section of the app called “My Houzz.” If you see something you like, you can also find out who the designer is and where to purchase items displayed in the photo.
Pandora’s mission is to “play only music you’ll love.” This app allows you to create channels based on the artists you choose; Pandora then selects similar music to round out your channel’s playlist. With this mobile app, you can always have access to your favorite music.
The myAT&T app allows you to easily access your AT&T account information on the go. You can view and pay your bills, check your wireless and U-verse video-on-demand usage, and sign up for paperless billing and Autopay. Other cool features are the ability to update voice or data plans on the go and to locate Wifi hotspots, which can come in handy for those who travel frequently.
Now you can make and track purchases on Amazon through your mobile device. The Amazon app has the features of the online version that make amazon.com one of the most popular online retailers: search, price comparisons, buyer reviews, and customer deals. On-the-go shopping with the Amazon app is a snap with features that let you scan a barcode, take a photo, or type a search to quickly compare prices and check availability.
If you were to check out the home screens of our mobile phones, you’d definitely find many more apps that are so heavily used that we don’t want to imagine life without them. But now you have a few of our favorites to check out, if you haven’t already discovered them and grown as attached as we have.
